The RoleWe are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our business as an integral part of the Group Finance Department. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Group Finance effectiveness by ensuring the monitoring of daily cash movement, posting and processing of journals, reconciliation of organizations bank accounts, preparations of monthly management reporting’s and liaising with tax consultants on tax matters and ensuring prompt remittance of all taxes. Success in this role will require individuals with impeccable communication and organizational skills who are able to work in a demanding environment, where the requirements of various stakeholders need to be managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statement.
- Maintenance of fixed assets register (cost, additions, disposals, depreciation),
- Preparation of daily cash movement analysis.
- Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all financial transactions are recorded.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of organizational Bank accounts, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Prepayment Accounts.
- Preparation of monthly management reporting.
- Preparation of monthly payroll and allowance for staff.
- Liaising with tax consultants on tax matters and ensuring prompt remittance of all taxes.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum academic qualification of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or in another related field.
- ICAN or ACCA certification required.
- Minimum of 4 years working experience in accounting/ finance
- Experience in agency banking would be an added advantage.
- Preference to having audit experience or having been in a Company being audited.
Essential Skills
- Possess advanced skills in the use of Excel package.
- Strong ability to process and analyze large quantity of data.
- Good knowledge of financial modelling
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.
- Knowledge of tax and other compliance implications.
- Strong problem solver and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
- High level of integrity and dependability.
- Demonstrate ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to manage processes and/or people.
